Mark Durbin, General Manager
Mark Durbin was promoted to general manager on January 1, 2013. after 39 years at The Lexington Cemetery. Prior to this promotion, Mr. Durbin served as the assistant general manager from 1997 to 2013 and the accounting and computer systems administrator from 1983-1997 after obtaining a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Kentucky in 1984. Mr. Durbin began his career at The Lexington Cemetery in 1973 as a part-time groundsman.
Mr. Durbin was appointed to the Cremation Association of North America board of directors for a three-year term that began September, 1999. As a member of the board of directors, he assumed the position of chairperson of publications. He currently serves as chairman for the public relations and marketing committees.
Additionally, Mr. Durbin is a graduate of the International Cemetery and Funeral Association University, Memphis, TN. He is a CANA Certified Crematory Manager and Operator which required 180 hours to complete.
With strong family ties to The Lexington Cemetery, Mr. Durbin is the second generation on his father's and the third generation on his mother's side of the family to be employed at The Lexington Cemetery. He and his family are members of Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Church.
