The following is a checklist that was compiled by four Lexington birders of excellent repute who kept lists of Cemetery birds for a ten year period prior to 1984.

The birds are listed in the order of classification established by the American Ornithologists' Union.

a - Abundant (common species, very numerous)
c - Common (certain to be seen in suitable habitat)
u - Uncommon (present, but not certain to be seen)
o - Occasional (seen only a few times during a season)
